Orange Barrel Media floods I-670

Orange Barrel Media opened its new office this past weekend, and on Friday they unveiled an artistic aspect of the space: a mural of the 1913 flood in Franklinton. The 5,000sqft mural (a digital enlargement of the Emily Jay oil painting) hangs on the back of their building facing I-670. And while it depicts a truly tragic moment in central Ohio history, the company chose the mural because, to them, it symbolizes how communities can work together. CEO of Orange Barrel Media, Pete Scantland, said in a news release: “The heroism evident in the image captures the sense of community that defines Franklinton. We thought it a fitting tribute to the people of this great community.” (deb)
