Pataskala officials not high on idea of marijuana research institute
If ResponsibleOhio’s marijuana legalization effort is passed by voters on November 3rd, the International Cannabinoid Institute Research Foundation says that they will build a facility in Pataskala. This Week News / Licking County News reports that the foundation has signed a 99-year lease with the owner of a Pataskala property that is named as one of the 10 statewide locations designated for commercial marijuana farming. The foundation would use a small portion of that land for a new medicinal marijuana research facility.
The lease would take affect and the facility would be built only if Issue 3 passes.
Local officials in Pickerington say that they don’t support Issue 3 and they do not want the facility in their community. (jj)
