Pup of the Week: Toffee

Pup of the Week: Toffee

614Now has partnered with the CHA Animal Shelter to put some focus each week on a cute pup up for adoption.

Quick note: the shelter wants to remind everyone about their $5 Feline Friday special. All cats and kittens have a $5 adoption fee every Friday through the winter.

ToffyLet’s take a look at Toffee.

Toffee is an 8-year-old tan and black hound / terrier. She was transferred to CHA from a crowded, rural shelter. She weighs 35 pounds and is described as gentle and sweet. Toffee walks very well on leash and has an excellent demeanor. She is the kind of dog that most families want. She’s calm and relaxed but enjoys a good brisk walk and some moderate exercise. Toffee likes plush toys and she especially enjoys Kongs that are stuffed with wet dog food and then frozen. She thinks they’re delicious! Toffee is very active in play group with other dogs. She loves to romp and play and gets along with everyone. If you’re not prepared for the overwhelming experience of having a puppy but want a sweet canine in your house, check out Toffee.

Toffee’s adoption fee is listed at $65. She is up-to-date on all of her shots, and has been spayed and micro-chipped. Adoption fees go right back into the shelter to help care for animals continuing to wait for their new homes.

More about CHA Animal Shelter:

CHA Animal Shelter is a nonprofit animal shelter in northeast Columbus, Ohio (3765 Corporate Drive). CHA is funded solely by donations from adoption fees, donations from the public, and various other fundraising efforts. Their mission is to serve the people and animals of Central Ohio by providing safe, temporary shelter and care for abandoned or otherwise homeless cats and dogs, and to reduce pet overpopulation by means of spay and neuter, education, and community outreach. They have been fulfilling that mission since 1975.

Adoption fees are designed to help offset a portion of the cost of food, shelter, and medical care for each rescued animal.  (jj)
