Residents oppose Worthington development
Developers in Worthington unveiled their plans for the site of the former United Methodist Children’s Home in Worthington. And resident were quick to voice their concerns.
Change…it rarely comes with ease.
Lifestyle Communities displayed a proposal to turn the 41-acre property into a development with what they called “urban village-style.” The area would include more than 270 homes, 350 apartments, plus medical offices and retail space. Many of those assembled complained that the area doesn’t need more apartments and the design did not include enough green space. Residents also voiced concerns about traffic issues arising with the number of new residents that would be expected. (Lifestyle Communities has ordered a traffic study.)
Residents previously opposed a potential sale of a portion of the land to Giant Eagle for a new grocery store. (jj)
