Residents upset with unauthorized restaurant construction in Bexley

In November of 2013, Anna Krupovlyanskaya’s plans for a new Bexley restaurant were approved. City Council had reviewed the designs for a new exterior for the 3-story building at 2525 East Main Street and had given the green light. So construction began. But things have not gone according to plan and that has upset neighbors.

An elevator shaft coming from the roof, for example, is nearly 4-feet taller than in the approved designs. A rooftop patio with seating for 49 is also a part of the build, though that was never approved by council. Residents have concerns about noise, lighting and parking. Others are simply upset about Krupovlyanskaya’s failure to adhere to what had been approved. She did not appear at a Bexley City Council meeting this week to address the issues and present the new designs. Instead, the architect (Bruce Faris) represented her.  Faris says that the plans for the rooftop patio include measures to shield lighting and that the patio will be relatively quiet…no outdoor music and not a party scene.

Faris will return to council with redesigns next month.  (jj)
