Safety jump: the rules of Mirror Lake

It’s an annual tradition that Ohio State doesn’t sanction, but for which they do set safety protocols.

The jump at Mirror Lake next Tuesday will see thousands of Buckeye students take the splashy plunge and for the third year in a row, OSU is trying to bring some order to the revelry.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that the university plans to enlarge a fenced area at the event this year and position two entrances. Students wanting to take part will be required to have a wristband. Those can be picked up at the Ohio Union and at the RPAC Welcome Center during the following hours:

  • Friday: 2pm to 10pm
  • Saturday: 9am to 10pm
  • Sunday: 10am to 10pm
  • Monday: 7am to 10pm
  • Tuesday: 7am to 10pm
