Scotts Miracle-Gro high off new deal
Scotts Miracle-Gro puffed out a new business acquisition, or rather its subsidiary Hawthorne Gardening Co., which just purchased General Hydroponics Inc. and Bio-Organic Solutions Inc. The company wanted to invest and appeal to young, urban gardeners and thought the Santa Rosa, CA growers would be a great venture to bring into the company. And while the details of the acquisition haven’t been disclosed, the new deal puts Scotts in the forefront of the growing marijuana market. (deb)
