Total (solar) eclipse of the heart

I’m sure someone was singing Bonnie Tyler as a total eclipse took place early this morning. And while that would have been an epic way to celebrate the first day of Spring, those of us here in North America (and Columbus, by extension) missed out on the solar phenomenon. Today’s eclipse was mostly visible over the northern Atlantic Ocean, like Faroe Island, parts of Iceland, Scotland, and the Svalbard Islands (Norway).

Guess we’ll just have to wait until Aug. 21, 2017 to see the next total solar eclipse. (deb)
