CD 102.5 announces local artist showcase

614now Staff

Local radio station CD 102.5 announced yesterday its semi-finalists for its local artist showcase, which lets bands compete for votes for the opportunity to open up for national touring artists at the radio station’s CD 102.5 Day festival.

Semi-finalists include art-pop collective Playing To Vapors, chilled-out rockers The Cordial Sins, and the wild, unhinged band of brothers The Up All Nights.

Though it is a bit cruel to pit local artists against each other in a city with such a high density of extraordinary talent, a slot in the lineup of CD 102.5 Day is a coveted one for artists seeking exposure to a larger audience.

The initial round of voting runs through February 3, and two artist showcases are set for February 19 and March 2 at Skully’s Music Diner.

Check out the link below to hear some of the best tunes Columbus has to offer, and be sure to support your favorite artist by voting for them!
