Joanna Angel Compares Porn to Pokemon GO as EXXXOTICA Heads to Columbus

We live in uncertain times. Modern reality seems to be confusing, depressing, and hopeless. Despite the tumult of the modern condition one thing remains certain: people enjoy watching other people have sex.

Adult entertainment is as popular in this country as it has ever been—anyone’s web browser search history can attest to that, and the industry pulls in billions of dollars annually in America alone. As its popularity swells, so does its level of mainstream acceptance.

Exxxotica Expo rides the crest of this wave, heralding its message that “sex isn’t a four-letter word.” Taking over The Greater Columbus Convention Center from August 26th through the 28th, Exxxotica Expo brings the vanguard of pornography to the public. Big name industry stars, such as Ron Jeremy and Lexi Belle, will be there, signing autographs in the flesh.

A 10-year-old family run business, Exxxotica has seen unparalleled success, but titillation isn’t their only goal.

“EXXXOTICA always has, and always will, be a place where love and sex can be discussed in a safe, educating and entertaining way,” says J. Handy, Exxxotica’s creator and director. Boasting the higher rates of attendance for couples and women than any other event of its kind, EXXXOTICA is assisting our generation in leaving unnecessary taboos in the past and leading us into the future.

But what does the tantalizing future of pornography hold?  Producer and star performer Joanna Angel, who will be in attendance during  Exxxotica, sees promise in augmented reality.

“I think the next thing will be AR porn, where instead of the viewer being transported to the girl like it currently is with VR (virtual reality) porn, the girl will be transported to the viewer. You know—like Pokemon Go! If a Zubat can be in your living room then so can I!”

If anything could rival the monumental popularity of Pokemon Go, surely, it would be porn. Evan Stone, who plays Donald Trump in a newly released XXX parody and one of the most prolific male actors in the history of porn, sees porn’s future trends taking a less tech oriented turn.

“Live shows in the theater with [an] audience” will be part of the future aesthetic. “Every show is pushing more and more sex or nudity…the actors today are soft core porno actors.”

Perhaps it won’t come as a shock when the lines between mainstream Hollywood and adult entertainment become more and more blurred, or when we’re all awkwardly fumbling around a sexy virtual reality of our own design, but certain visions of the future of pornography may leave you surprised. As more people are inundated with infinite amounts of porn it is commonly assumed that the sex acts depicted have become increasingly more extreme or unusual, attempting to excite an increasingly jaded viewers, but this trend may not hold forever.

Again, Joanna Angel says that, “Viewers want to see more passion and intensity at the moment, whereas like 8 years ago, viewers were all about that gaping butthole.”

So fear not all of you puritanical sticks in the mud, the future may not be as salacious as one may think.
