Short North Announces the Holiday Schedule

The Short North Arts District will once again be transformed into the Short North Pole with its festival holiday decor, arch banners, and inspired window displays starting next week.

This year, businesses are collaborating for several established and new seasonal events that will allow visitors and residents alike to celebrate the holiday season in true Short North Arts District style.

Friday, November 18: Deck The District Tree Lighting
6:00-8:00pm in Poplar Park, get in the holiday spirit with festive tunes sung by featured performer the Columbus Chorus Sweet Adelines, and have your photo taken with Santa. At 6:30pm, gather ‘round with family and friends to watch the tree sparkle and shine at the official tree lighting by the Short North Alliance and elected officials.

Friday, November 25: Black Friday
Beginning on Black Friday, shop at select retailers in the Short North Arts District to receive a free, limited edition Short North Arts District Collectible Tote Bag featuring the Short North Gothic mural.

Saturday, November 26: Small Business Saturday
Shop small and local in the Short North Arts District on Small Business Saturday. Select retailers will offer Short North Arts District Collectible Tote Bags with purchase, while supplies last.

Saturday, December 3: Holiday Hop
Holiday Hop is a celebrated Columbus tradition and the biggest Gallery Hop of the year, featuring street performers, decorated windows, lights, and holiday cheer. See new art exhibitions in the Short North Arts District galleries, vote for your favorite Short North Arts District holiday window display, get your photo taken with Santa at Victorian Gate.

Saturday, December 10: Short North Pole Shop Night
Enjoy an evening in the Short North Arts District and check off everyone on your holiday shopping list during the new Short North Pole Shop Night. Select businesses will offer extended hours, and festive performers will roam High Street throughout the evening. Stay out late and shop between 7:00pm and 9:00pm to be rewarded with a limited edition holiday giveaway – a Short North Pole ornament.

Saturday, December 19: Wrap It Up Saturday
Finish your holiday shopping in the Short North Arts District with a variety of perfectly giftable items along High Street, including art, home decor, accessories, unique clothing, and more. While you’re out, see outdoor holiday performers and get your gifts wrapped at select retailers, or a nonprofit-sponsored location in the Short North Arts District from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.
