Denied March Madness, Buckeyes settle for NIT

Snapping the team’s 7-year streak of making the cut for the NCAA tournament, the Buckeyes will be competing in this year’s National Invitational Tournament instead.

The Bucks’ first game will be against MAC champions the Akron Zips at The Schott Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

“We have a young team who will surely benefit from the additional practice and competition,” said head coach Thad Matta in a statement released yesterday.
