Former Buckeye Maurice Clarett busted for OVI

Just when we thought that we might have a lull in legal troubles involving Ohio State football players, Maurice Clarett steps in to fill the gap.

The former Buckeye running back picked up a weekend citation for OVI near Mount Gilead. Highway Patrol stopped Clarett on Sunday afternoon and ticketed him for driving while intoxicated and for a turn signal infraction.

Clarett was a part of 2002’s Ohio State National Championship team. He’s had various issues…legal and otherwise…in the years that have followed. In 2013, he released a book about turning his life around and has traveled as a motivational speaker. He also runs a cleaning company.

Clarett served more than three years in prison for a robbery conviction and was released from probation in February of 2015.

He is due in court later this week.
