Ohio State University has announced Jim Smith, former marketing chief for the Atlanta Falcons, to replace Archie Griffin as the new OSU Alumni Club President.
The club’s 107,000 members have been waiting with bated breath to hear who will be filling Griffin’s shoes since he announced his retirement in April, and any one of them will tell you that his are some big shoes to fill.
But Smith is no stranger to Ohio State, having graduated from the school with a master’s degree in sports management in 1991.
He also worked as associate athletics director at Ohio State, overseeing the opening of the Schottenstein Center, the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium and Bill David Stadium.
