Terrelle Pryor officially unbanned from Ohio State

Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor’s five-year ban from Ohio State ended Tuesday, and according to university athletic director Gene Smith, he’s welcome back.

“It’s over, it’s great,” Smith said. “He’d be welcomed back with open arms. He’s a grown man now.”

Pryor’s ban resulted from his involvement in the 2011 scandal that left coach Jim Tressel without a job, landed NCAA sanctions on the Buckeyes and put increased scrutiny on what kind of rewards football players receive outside of their education.

Though Pryor was back in Ohio Stadium for the Browns’ 2015 scrimmage, and will be again this year, he now has full access to campus facilities, and might be training at OSU facilities during the off-season, as many former Buckeyes-turned-NFL players do.
