A win on Saturday ties Meyer with Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops’ record for most wins by a head coach in their first 15 seasons.
Stoops won 160 games between 1999-2013, so Meyer is at 159.
This means a lot, not only for the Buckeyes but for Meyer who is not only on track to beat Stoops’ record but totally annihilate it in the process — making it very hard for anyone else to ever come close.
As an aside, Meyers is almost always winning with a stupid, absolutely bonkers winning percentage of 85% (W/L — 159 – 27) and is third on the all-time list.
He isn’t far from first though, as Knute Rockne sits on the throne with a .881 or 88% win percent.
