Cedar Point adds new coaster, shuts down three other rides in 2016
Adding another record-breaking coaster to its roster, Cedar Point is unleashing “Valravn” for the 2016 season, touted as the largest “dive coaster” in the world.
The ride takes park goers to the top of a 223 foot hill before intentionally stopping, dangling riders over the edge of the hill for a few seconds before taking a 90 degree plunge.
Extreme thrills aside, there are also a few rides shutting down due to low ridership: the Shoot the Rapids water ride, the Skyscraper and Challenge Racing.
It’s also worth noting that the amusement park raised its ticket price at the gate by $3 this year to $65, but guests can save $25 by ordering tickets online.
