Celeste Center Gets Its First Renovation Since 1991
There’s a myriad of problems in Ohio Expo Center’s Celeste Center: the plumbing, the electric, the heating and even the seats. For the first time since 1991, it’s getting a much needed facelift, according to Columbus Business First.
The project will take about $9.4 million, part of the state’s $2.6 billion capital budget for the next two years. The biggest change comes from the retractable mezzanine seats that will replace the bleachers. This way, staff can clear the space for occasions like trade shows.
The money was granted to the center by the state as part of their $2.6 billion capital budget for the next two years.
The 20-building exposition center will stay open during renovations and will hopefully completed just in time for 2018’s state fair.
