Haunted Fest brings EDM to Columbus

EDM concerts are unlike any other show—you roll up with your best friends, dressed in your best dancing shoes and glow in the dark body paint. Everyone has stars in their eyes amid the lasers and lights, all ready to vacate their day to day lives and step into a whole new world of bass, amazingly energized vibes, and loads of high fives. Add in the dark magic of Halloween (costumes are a must) and you’ve got a perfect recipe for a devilishly good night.

While festival season winds down for the rest of beat-loving society, Prime Social Group continues to rev up in preparation for their third edition of Haunted Fest, Columbus’s only large format EDM event. Although it is only one night, Haunted Fest will be packed with everything that makes a festival such an out of this world experience. Prime Social Group will, as always, bring in top-notch acts fresh to the Columbus live-music scene.
Producer and chart-topping DJ, Kaskade—one of the godfathers of electronic dance music according to Zach Ruben, co-founder of Prime Social Group—is headlining 2016’s event. Kaskade, though technically not new to Columbus, has been depressingly absent to our venues for over a decade, seeing his name on a local event poster nearly brought tears to my eyes. But that’s neither here nor there.

Also billed to headline is Marshmello, a recent addition to the electronic community who has become an enigmatic sensation. Almost overnight, Marshmello has gone from a relatively unknown act to performing at festivals such as the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) of Las Vegas. Most recently he has been associated with well-known DJs such as Tiesto and Skrillex, making Marshmello one of the most talked about acts to hit the scene in the last year. Ruben affectionately joked about the buzz around PSG’s office regarding how many festival patrons will be rocking that signature Marshmello head for the show.

Also set to perform at the festival are Anna Lunoe—one of the most badass ladies on the scene—and CID, who recently released a track alongside Kaskade.

As any festivalgoer knows, shows such as these are not simply concerts. They are massive events which draws you in through every sense, making you not only a spectator, but a member of a wild group of music lovers reveling in the magic of Halloween weekend, and, of course, that sweet, sweet, bass.

Haunted Fest is a concentrated night of everything festival fans love about this music centered culture. But it is expertly designed to be deeply inviting, rather than simply overwhelming. The one night event will have several bars—Smirnoff is one of many sponsors (and I’d like to thank all involved in advance for the colorful, delicious drinks)—the best food vendors Columbus has to offer, peddlers selling fun souvenirs and festive products, and live performers such as stilt walkers and visual artists. Every inch of the venue will be expertly curated to entice you and tickle your fancy in ways you would never expect.

If you’re looking for a more personal, exclusive experience outside of general admission, Prime Social Group is offering an entire array of VIP tables and areas that  include the best spots for you and your friends to enjoy the show, as well as private tables with bottle services. Though expensive, these extras are well worth the price.

Whether you’re going for general admissions or opting for VIP, Prime Social Group—as always—is committed to putting on an event unlike any other. They’ve meticulously curated Haunted Fest to include every aspect of experience festival frequenters know and love, all set on the perfect night to kick off Halloween weekend in Columbus.
