Massive comic book collection is unearthed, up for sale
A vintage toy store in Canal Fulton, Ohio stumbled upon a treasure trove of over 14,000 classic comic books when an avid comic reader sought to liquidate his collection.
The store, aptly named The Toys Time Forgot, is putting the collection on sale Saturday, knocking 20% off all issues that aren’t “key issues” or #1 issues.
“The sale runs to Sunday, and after the sale is over we’ll start filing them into our back issue file,” manager Jami Meeker told 614now. “So far it’s taken almost 200 hours worth of work to sort them all.”
Though the original collector read the comics–leaving perfect preservation by the wayside–classic comic lovers might find the trip to northeast Ohio worth it for a chance to peruse rare first editions, and maybe to find a diamond in the rough.
