Athens’ Big Mamma’s Burritos is coming to Grandview!
Athens staple Big Mamma’s Burritos has popped up in Columbus from time to time on special occasions, but that’s all about to change with a new storefront right here in Columbus.
Located at 1359 Grandview Ave. in the building that used to house Z Pizza, Big Mamma’s will be serving up burritos in two sizes (regular and baby), featuring creative twists on the Mexican classic.
Though an official opening date isn’t set in stone, owner Quinn Schaller told 614NOW he expects the restaurant will be open this Friday or Saturday.
“We are going to start off with our traditional menu that we have in Athens but plan to develop new items and see what this market likes. Nachos and Quesadillas are definitely something we are excited to try out,” Schaller said. “We are so excited to be a part of Grandview and all that is going on in this area.”
Perhaps best known for its chipotle ranch burritos, any recent Ohio University graduate will tell you they’re a superb solution to late-night cuisine (especially since they’ll be open until 3 a.m. Monday through Sunday!)
The permanent store goes up only a few weeks after it was announced that Big Mamma’s will be handling the food for the upcoming Daily Growler in German Village, to open this fall.
