Beef recall…not the chips I wanted with my burger

Walmart is recalling 89,000 pounds of beef after word of a possible contamination with wood.

The retailer is advising consumers of a possible issue with two-pound boxes containing six pieces of “Sam’s Choice Black Angus Beef Patties with 19 percent Vidalia Onion” (by-use dates of May 17, May 29 and June 6, 2016). The product was possibly contaminated via an incoming ingredient at the supplier (Huisken Meat Co.). There have been no reports of anyone becoming sick. Still, if you have this items on-hand, you’re encouraged to throw it out or return it to the store for a refund.

The items were sold at Walmart and Sam’s Club stores.
