Block’s Bagels Opening New Location

Block’s Bagels – the far, away bagel hot spot frequented by people across Columbus is opening a new store after celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Where…? 3012 E. Broad. A stone’s throw away from the permanently closed Block’s Hot Bagels, located at 3415 E. Broad which ran for nearly 29 years.

The new store will not be operated by the father-son team of Steve and Hal Block but instead be licensed to a family friend, think franchise but smaller.

The Block family business has tried expanding for years once with a Kellner location which closed in 1987 and a third in the ’90s on Sawmill which closed as well due to a street-widening project.

So when’s the new store happening? Christmas for a potential soft open and January for the big reveal. We’re already jacked for a Corned Beef on Rye.
