Chipotle opening first location of new burger chain in Ohio
Ohio’s diverse demographics make it a true slice of America, and in many cases, the perfect test market.
For Chipotle’s new expansion into ground beef, it’s no exception.
Chipotle spokesman Chris Arnold confirmed today that the company would be entering the burger business this fall with a new chain called TastyMade.
The first location? Lancaster, Ohio.
TastyMade aims to specialize in three American comfort food classics: burgers, fries and shakes, and like Chipotle, they plan on using beef free of antibiotics or added hormones, and to use all-natural ingredients in their buns and milkshakes.
And the cherry on top of this fast-food shakeup? The fathers of the concept, Chef Nate Appleman and Chipotle national training director David Chrisman, are both native Ohioans.
Will the new restaurant be able to conquer the burger market as Chipotle has done with burritos? We’ll have to wait until fall to find out.
