Heinz has potentially mislabeled a 500 cases of HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy and do not contain the explicit warning that they contain milk and soy.

Those will soy or dairy allergies run of risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. These are the products being recalled.

This is bad news but a great opportunity to make your own gravy — it’s really easy:

  1. Pour your turkey drippings into a large measuring cup, let is cool.
  2. Spoon off all that congealed fat from the top – takes like 15 seconds.
  3. Throw in like 2-3 cups of chicken or turkey stock
  4. In your turkey pan, throw in some butter and cook it on medium/high heat, scrap off those little burnt chunks and mix it with that butter.
  5. Add 1/4 cup of flour to make a roux — whisk it while it cooks to form a dark brown color.
  6. Add your stock/dripping mixture and whisk it all up.
  7. Boil it while stirring, reduce once boiling to medium and stir.
  8. Done! Congrats — you just made gravy.
