Sabra Hummus Recalled For Listeria…Again
In case you were thinking about replacing the turkey gravy with…hummus this Thanksgiving, you might want to think again and also throw out any Sabra hummus in your fridge.
The FDA says Sabra has issued a voluntary recall which includes hummus products with a “Best Before” date of Jan. 23, 2017, or earlier. The products were sent to retailers in the U.S. and Canada.
The FDA says listeria was identified at the manufacturing facility, but not in the finished product — so you could be safe but with how serious listeria is for children and the elderly you wouldn’t want to risk it right before the Holiday season.
Sabra’s organic hummus, salsa, guacamole and Greek yogurt dips are not included in the recall.
Sabra made a similar voluntary recall last year for 30,000 products over concerns for listeria.
