Big Changes to Columbus Night Lights

Columbus is literally lightening up — in that they are installing new LED lights in every single street light in the city. The way we light up our streets will be more energy efficient and, in the long term, more cost efficient as well.

This is all still in the planning stages according to a press release, but they’re testing the lights along Northridge Road between Indianola Avenue and Granden Road, and they’re up for public review.

The City installed two different kinds of LED street lights: 3000 Kelvin lights which look more yellow or gold, and 4000 Kelvin lights which look more white. The lights are labeled 3k or 4k towards the tops of the poles, so you can actually go out and look at them at night and determine which one you like the best.

If you want to pick which one you like best, email [email protected] with your comments.
