A committee in the Ohio House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow religious public school students to use school facilities to express their beliefs in an equal capacity to secular students.
It hasn’t passed entirely yet–it still has to be voted through the full House of Representatives.
The bill would also stop school districts from preventing religious expression in school assignments.
The Ohio branch of the American Civil Liberties Union raised concerns that the measure goes much further than what is currently allowed under federal law.
