Trump on Kasich: ‘He oughta get the hell out’
Donald Trump had strong words for Ohio Governor John Kasich at a rally in Wisconsin this morning.
The frontrunner for the Republican nomination touted his own 23 primary wins while citing Kasich’s singular win in Ohio: “He’s one and thirty; he oughta get the hell out, honestly.”
Trump said he would have won Ohio if he had spent more time campaigning in the Buckeye state, and that Kasich “has the machine behind him” in his home state.
“He’s just a stubborn guy–he’s stubborn. He doesn’t want to leave,” Trump said, drawing comparisons between Kasich and the presidential candidates who have already dropped out of the race, like Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio.
“He’s not even campaigning here. He’s gone. He’s right now in other states campaigning because he feels he’s not gonna do well in Wisconsin–and he’s right.”
Though the Kasich campaign has not yet issued a response to this morning’s comments, they did post a Tweet this morning responding to comments Trump made over the weekend, spinning calls for him to drop out in a different light.
Donald Trump doesn’t want to run against John Kasich.
