Business owner owes IRS over $1.5M

Don’t mess with the IRS.  Columbus business owner Paul R. Taylor, Jr., 60, did just that and was sentenced to 12 months in prison, three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay back $1,576,750.29 to the Internal Revenue Service for willful failure to pay over employment taxes.

Taylor is the owner of business entities in the “construction development management industry,” according to court documents. One of Taylor’s entities, Kingston, engaged in the practice of withholding employment taxes and then failing to remit payment to the IRS.
