Man leads police on high-speed chase through Clintonville
When you think of blaring sirens and engines pumping out 75 mph speeds, you might think of I-71 or I-70 as the locale–not Indianola Ave.
And yet, like the size of the universe, the stupidity of criminals seems to have no bounds.
After James A. Williams robbed Clintonville pizza shop Pizza Fresca at knife-point just before 2:30 a.m. this morning, store employees tipped off police to his conspicuous tan minivan.
Police quickly spotted the van and entered pursuit.
Williams didn’t give up easily, and led police down Indianola Ave. at speeds of 75 mph. That’s 40 mph over the speed limit.
But, he came to an abrupt stop when he rammed his vehicle into a pole, giving police the opportunity to arrest him and recover the stolen goods from the vehicle.
Williams has since been charged with aggravated robbery and felony fleeing.
