Powerball scams: Don’t lose more than you already have

A central Ohio Better Business Bureau has warned gamblers that the unprecedented $1.5 billion Powerball drawing today may bring the scam artists out of the woodwork. Officials say scams will require payment before winnings can be claimed, in form of taxes or other fees. There’s also the possibility of receiving a fake check in the mail with instructions to deposit it then send the fees in afterwards.

Be smart and you won’t get scammed. But let’s be honest, if you’ve bought into the Powerball you’ve already lost that game.
