Seriously? Gahanna food pantry robbed
Gahanna Residents in Need, or GRIN, is a food pantry serving underprivileged communities just east of Columbus, and they just ran into a big problem.
Executive food pantry director Brenda Johnston says that when she went to retrieve thousands of dollars worth of donations to restock the pantry, they were simply nowhere to be found.
The donations were in the form of cards that could be redeemed at local Meijer stores through a program called Simply Give. When GRIN called to place a hold on the cards, it was discovered they had already been redeemed.
“I was devastated,” Johnston said. “How could someone take something from someone that is trying to help others?”
Gahanna Police are working to find out who is responsible.
