Amazon Builds More Ohio Renewable Energy

Amazon is giving Ohio a wind turbine farm for Christmas next December.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Amazon will be working with EverPower will build a 189-megawatt farm that has been in the works for the last three years. This will be the fifth similar project that Amazon takes part in, and the second in Ohio, and both turbine farms will be pretty close to each other — one in Paulding County and one in Hardin County.

The company hopes to use the renewable energy to power their cloud services. This will be the third time that Amazon has invested in Ohio as it previously built two distribution centers in Central Ohio.

The Paulding County turbine project is expected to come online in May, according to the Dispatch, and all together, Amazon’s five turbine projects across the nation are expected to generate enough energy to power 200,000 homes.
