Billboards in Columbus now dominated by Lamar Advertising

It used to be that there were two huge names in billboard advertising in Columbus: Lamar Advertising and Clear Channel Outdoor.

But as of earlier this month, that number is now a big one.

According to a letter sent to the 614 Media office by Clear Channel Outdoor, the Columbus, OH branch of Clear Channel Outdoor was acquired by Lamar Advertising, effective February 12.

The letter is mum on details, and neither Clear Channel Outdoor nor Lamar Advertising offered a comment when contacted.
