Columbus Homeless Shanties Receive a Warm, Helping Hand
Although not many are aware, if you follow tracks in Columbus’ most wooded areas, you’ll find groups of shanties where the most disadvantaged Columbusites live.
This year’s winter has rolled around in full force, blanketing our city in frigid temperatures — so one group is making sure everyone is kept warm and safe.
According to 10tv, Maryhaven Collaborative Outreach is traveling to these shanty communities with supplies and necessities to make sure no one sleeps in the cold without life-saving protection.
Although there are warming centers opening up and extending their hours around Columbus, their work is important in giving our homeless the chance to survive through the season.
