Columbus’ place on the creepy crawly list

shutterstock_74752210Visitors to Columbus, hopefully, will fail to stumble across a piece of information that likely will have been left out of their tourism brochures.

Columbus ranks 7th in the nation in terms of American city’s with bed bug infestations.

I mean…it’s not exactly something that you want to brag about. Though to be fair, we ranked third on a similar list last year, so it sounds like we’re improving.

The new study from pest control company Terminix has the (614) placing better than Cleveland (3rd) and Dayton (5th), but just a trace worse than Cincinnati (8th). Here’s a look at the “top” 15:

  1. Detroit, Mich.
  2. Philadelphia, Pa.
  3. Cleveland-Akron, Ohio
  4. Los Angeles, Calif.
  5. Dayton, Ohio
  6. Chicago, Ill.
  7. Columbus, Ohio
  8. Cincinnati, Ohio
  9. Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas
  10. San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, Calif.
  11. Denver, Colo.
  12. Toledo, Ohio
  13. Oklahoma City, OK
  14. Baltimore, Md.
  15. New York, N.Y.
