Fatal New Year’s Eve accident on Riverside Drive
Just after 9pm Thursday night, a vehicle turning left onto Riverside Drive (from Nottingham Road) was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Riverside. Witnesses say that the struck vehicle had a green light.
A passenger in the struck vehicle was killed. The driver and another passenger are hospitalized with injuries from the accident.
The vehicle of the northbound vehicle was also injured by is expected to survive. Police believe that alcohol my have played a role in the crash.
