Former OSU student’s hitman scheme foiled by undercover agent
A former Ohio State student is accused of hiring a hitman to kidnap and assassinate the federal judge who put him behind bars.
Yahya Farooq Mohammed, an engineering student at Ohio State from 2002 to 2004, is currently serving time in prison for terrorism charges, but that didn’t stop him from attempting to take revenge on U.S. District Judge Jack Zouhary, the man who convicted him.
He offered to pay $15,000 to his supposed hitman, who was actually an undercover federal agent.
Mohammed, an Indian citizen originally from the United Arab Emirates, was charged with attempted first degree murder of a federal officer, solicitation to commit a crime of violence and use of interstate commerce facilities in commission of murder for hire.
He is originally in prison due to a pending case of funding violent jihadists against the U.S. Military, which will be handled by Judge Zouhary.
