Highway shooting closes I-70 West
Two people were shot early this morning on I-70 West this morning, causing police to shut down sections of the highway for several hours.
According to police, a street fight began on the east side that eventually moved to the highway.
Around 2:30 a.m. one car pulled up next to the other on I-70 and an unknown gunman opened fire, hitting two people and causing the car to swerve into the median, where it slammed into the crossover wire, preventing it from going into oncoming traffic.
Four people were in the car and two were shot, one of whom was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say this was not a random incident, and they are still looking for the second car.
