Infant dies in apartment fire

A child was pronounced dead at the scene of an apartment fire west of downtown. Crews were dispatched to an apartment building near Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Another child, around four or five years old, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. An infant and a mother were also treated at the scene.

Six apartments have been declared uninhabitable.
