Flames engulfed an apartment complex on Cleveland Avenue, just south of East Cooke Road early this morning, forcing people to jump out of windows and injuring at least five, according to 10tv.
Those who were injured were taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, and the firefighters had to actually call for extra help to battle the fire.
Brian Smith, a completely unattributed source, said to 10tv.,”It was pitch black smoke, you couldn’t see nothing. I’m underneath catching babies, moms, dads…whoever was jumping, I was catching. It was real scary. The scariest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.”
