Police arrest man wanted for killing wife

The man wanted for killing his wife after a history of domestic violence has been arrested in Columbus, according to police.

Lenzell Weston, 36, was arrested without incident in the area of Sunbury Road and Innis Road shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Weston, is accused of shooting and killing his wife, 34-year-old Monique Weston, in the couple’s northeast Columbus home.

Police were initially alerted of the shooting when one of Monique Weston’s children heard the gunshots and called 911.

His most recent charge was a probation violation for being arrested for domestic violence, followed by another instance of domestic violence the day before he allegedly killed his wife.

7/22/16: Columbus man kills wife after 10 counts of domestic violence

New details have emerged on the “armed and dangerous” man who Columbus police were hunting yesterday.

Lenzell Weston, 36, shot and killed his wife in his own home with his wife’s four children present after a long history of domestic violence.

Weston has been charged with 10 counts of domestic violence in the past three years alone.

The most recent accusation of domestic violence came from his wife on Wednesday–the day before she was killed.

Police say they received a call from a child in the house when the shooting started. Instead of facing the music, Weston fled out the back door.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Yesterday police said he should be considered “armed and dangerous,” and Columbus residents can call 911 with any information on his whereabouts.

6/21/16: Police hunting ‘armed and dangerous’ homicide suspect

Columbus Police are searching for a suspect accused of shooting and killing a woman in a northeast Columbus neighborhood on Northcliff Drive.

Police said Lenzell Weston, 36, is wanted in connection with a murder allegedly perpetrated this morning.

Weston perviously had a warrant issued for domestic violence on Wednesday, and has four other instances of domestic violence on record.

He should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
