You’ll never guess when Troy Smith’s next court date is.

OK, here’s a hint: the former Ohio State quarterback and Heisman trophy winner was arrested last weekend following a traffic stop where two blunts were found in his car and his blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit.

4/4/16: Former OSU quarterback charged with drunk driving, pot possession

When Columbus police officers pulled over a dark-colored Lincoln for driving without a back license plate early Sunday morning, they had no idea they would find a bleary-eyed former Buckeye inside–and a big name at that.

Former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith is facing charges of OVI, improper display of license plates, OVI breath and possession of marijuana following the traffic stop.

Columbus police said a strong odor of alcohol and marijuana emanated from the vehicle, and that Smith’s eyes were glassy and his speech slurred.

A glass jar containing two blunts was found in the center console of Smith’s car, and his blood alcohol level was .143, just under twice the legal limit. He has since issued an apology through a series of videos posted on his Instagram.

Smith, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2006 after serving as OSU’s quarterback for three years, is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
