Multiple explosions rocked the Brussels airport this morning in an apparent terror attack that left over two dozen dead and over 100 more wounded.

According to Associated Press Reports, the Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The attacks occurred only days after the prime suspect in the November terror attacks in Paris, Salah Abdeslam, was arrested in Brussels.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls condemned the attacks at a crisis meeting held by French President Francois Hollande this morning, saying, “we are at war. We have been subjected for the last few months in Europe to acts of war.”

Hollande said, “terrorists struck Brussels, but it was Europe that was targeted and all the world that is concerned.”

The explosions collapsed ceilings and scattered debris through the smoke-filled terminal, causing travellers to flee in panic.

Other European leaders have vigorously condemned the attacks. President Barack Obama was briefed on the attacks this morning during his visit to Cuba, and issued a brief statement this morning.

“We will do whatever is necessary to support our friend and ally Belgium in bringing to justice those responsible,” Obama said, amidst calls for international unity against terror.

Over 200 flights have since been cancelled or diverted from Brussels.

Locally, officials at Port Columbus Airport have not commented on any changes to security.
