OSU to Raise Ticket Prices

Start pre-empting your wallets, because as we mentioned in some articles previously — OSU is raising their ticket prices for 2017.

Season tickets would cost $695 in 2017, up from $614 this year, but student season tickets will not an increase and will stay the same as last year and will remain flat through at least 2020. Faculty and staff season tickets are scheduled to cost $652.

Here’s the 2017 home football schedule, with expected ticket prices:

  • Sept. 9 – Oklahoma Sooners ($190)
  • Sept. 16 – Army Black Knights ($70).
  • Sept. 23 – UNLV Rebels ($65).
  • Oct. 7 – Maryland Terrapins ($80).
  • Oct. 28 – Penn State Nittany Lions ($140)
  • Nov. 11 – Michigan State Spartans ($190).
  • Nov. 18 – Illinois Fighting Illini ($80).

“If we were to stop right now and really look at these numbers, $195 for the Michigan game is significantly underpriced,” Smith said last November. “We could right now make a decision and charge that at $250. But we’ve got to be prepared – is our culture ready for that?”

Is this corporate greed? Why is OSU raising their ticket prices? Let us know in the comments? Are you willing to pay 200 bucks to watch OSU vs Michigan?
