OSU Destroys a Bunch of Drugs

Yesterday Ohio State hosted the sixth annual Medication Disposal Day, a day where certified pharmacist come to campus and let students dispose of their over-the-counter or prescription drugs no questions asked, according to The Lantern

Last year the event collected over 130 pounds of drugs, and the pharmacists said to the Lantern that they mostly mostly try to focus on Adderall and opioids.

The event also aims to reduce environmental pollution, since drugs thrown down a sink or toilet can pollute local water systems. The pharmacists plan to destroy the drugs via chemical reaction and burning.
