Cedar Point Murders the Mean Streak, A Record Breaking Coaster

In a chilling video posted today at 7:00am on Cedar Point’s official twitter, they’ve announced the official kill date of their 1991 record breaking coaster, Mean Streak, for September 16th.

Yes, the video shows a bearded man literally taking an axe to one of the wooden support beams. This is no way alleviates our fears that this is actually happening when we do ride roller coasters. So yeah, thanks Cedar Point!

No word on what will be replacing the record breaking, 25 year old coaster. Mean Streak was a 161 foot tall wooden coaster that reached a top speed of 65mph. The park says the ride contains 1.7 million board feet of southern yellow pine. Good luck.
