Clintonville seeks ‘quiet zone’ for incessant train whistles

Some Clintonville residents have grown used to the train whistles that blare as often as five to six times an hour from the tracks just west of I-71, but others have had enough.

Last week the Clintonville Area Commission began discussing implementation of a “quiet zone” for trains around the Weber Road intersection.

The horns are intended to warn pedestrians and cars of the impending unstoppable force heading their way, but some are saying the added level of safety is not worth the constant annoyance.
