New development capitalizes on Franklinton funk
Franklinton is quickly becoming one of Columbus’ fastest-growing neighborhoods, and the most recent building proposal by Kaufman Development could spur that growth to a new level of excitement.
The five-story building located at 500 W Broad Street would be a combination of apartments, office space and retail, featuring a strikingly artistic and contemporary design.
Much like the recently proposed Millennial Tower in the River South District, Kaufman Development seeks to create a space where residents can live, work and play without having to do so much as walk a block away from home.
Amenities for residents could include fitness centers, a dog park, a rooftop garden, public art spaces, a climbing wall and a food truck court.
You know, all the essentials.
In spite of the building’s many luxuries, the developer hopes to have affordable living units among its 241 apartments in addition to units priced on par with downtown living.
The proposal will be officially heard by the Franklinton Area Commission on June 21. Pending a quick approval, Kaufman Development hopes to break ground by the end of the year.
